If you’ve ever been mistaken for somebody else based on the misspelling of your name, you can relate to this story. Actor Adam Devine recently felt the need to clarify on Instagram that he is not Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine , and that his marriage to fellow actor Chloe Bridges is doing just fine, thankyouverymuch.
“Just want to post this and say that my wife @chloebridges and I are doing great and going strong,” he wrote in the caption of a pic of himself and his better half basking in the sunshine in some idyllic looking waterside spot. “I am not Adam Levine. He’s a different guy and a worse singer. We are however naming our future baby Sumner.”

Hilarious though that may be, when we heard word of this story, our first reaction was, “Who the fuck is Adam Devine?” Then we did a little digging and learned that he stars on Pitch Perfect , which only further confirmed we have no idea in the hell who this person is. (It’s a Peacock musical comedy. We rest our case.) Oh, and he also has a podcast. (Like everyone else in the world.)
While wanting to distance yourself from someone facing massive amounts of public scrutiny (for an alleged affair with an Instagram model), maybe next time, make sure you’re actually famous before you start assuming everyone thinks you’re someone far more notorious.
