Grimes Asks Instagram To Weigh In on Possible Face Tattoo (What Could Go Wrong?)

Though few people treat it as such, getting a tattoo is a major decision. A tat could very well outlast your student loan debt, your marriage, and/or the years your children live under your roof. Getting inked is not something to be entered into lightly. And yet, if you open your eyes and look around, you’ll see so many impulsive tattoos (and so many more you can’t see because they’re in ridiculous places). Even in the best case scenario, where you plan, deliberate, and act thoughtfully about your tattoo, regret is still a very real possibility. What’s cool when you’re young looks a lot less so when your skin starts to sag and wrinkles appear. But try telling all that to Grimes.

The 34-year-old singer (whose real name is Claire Boucher and is perhaps best known as Elon Musk’s ex/baby mama) recently revealed to Instagram that she is considering a face tattoo.

“R selfies obsolete yet,” the Canadian weirdo captioned a pic of herself in alien-esque makeup. “I am very seriously considering getting a white ink tattoo on my face next week. Any thoughts? It feels like it’s time.”

In case you’re wondering why her face looks like it’s been stretched to the limit, it’s because, well, it has. Grimes has been transparent about getting plastic surgery. Her aesthetic appears to be something along the lines of extraterrestrial jailbait.

Grimes has been known to solicit social media for recommendations and advice regarding procedures like elf ears and vampire teeth caps in the past. But a face tattoo is a whole other level of insanity.

And yet, instead of discouraging the celeb from ruining her natural beauty any further, social media actually encouraged her to keep going.

“you have a unique beautiful face, I hope the tattoo will only make it better!” one Instagram follower said.

“it would be like sickkkk warpaint in its own way,” another wrote.

“if you are asking, you know the answer that you want. affirmation here for ya,” someone else commented alongside a heart emoji.

There were a couple of people who threw in a word of caution along the lines of, “PLEASE leave your face alone” and a straightforward “stop.”

But something tells us there’s no stopping this crazy train. Stay tuned to see what horrors Grimes will inflict on herself (and thereby all of us) next!
